Welcome Back!

Hello Art in the Market friends and followers! We hope you have had a nice holiday season and are enjoying the remaining days of winter break!  The Art in the Market Program will once again be meeting twice a week in January, February and March!  Our first meeting will be on Thursday (not Tuesday), January 5th, 2012 at 4:30 PM in the usual 3440 room at D.A.A.P.  There will be pizza, snacks and drinks provided as always, we hope to see you all there!  Classes this quarter will be held on Thursdays and Saturdays due to scheduling conflicts, we hope this does not create any confusions.  We are really excited about the artwork made and discussed over the last three months and we are looking forward to working with you all over the Winter and Spring.  Let me know if you have any questions or concerns by email (artinthemarket@gmail.com) or telephone (513-708-4895). Art Exhibition

Thank you to all who attended the final class meeting on Tuesday, Dec. 6th.

I couldn't imagine a better turnout of students, family, and friends... Thank you!

The artwork on display was fantastic, a lot of people were very impressed!

As of now the Art in the Market is officially on winter break.

We look forward to picking things back up in 2012.

Fourteenth Class Meeting

 

Greetings all, today in class today we finished existing projects and got ready for the big art show on Tuesday.  Attendees also made greeting cards and envelopes out of old National Geographics, and even a found art sculpture.  Today was health food day, which features fruit juice, fair-trade coffee, hummus, chips and veggie snacks.  A special thanks to Vernesha for bringing in her artwork to share with the class, I was very much impressed!

Please don't forget to join us on Tuesday evening at 7:00 PM for the first Art in the Market art show of 2011!  On display will be a lot of great artwork by the talented and creative AITM group members!  Additionally, pizza, snacks and drinks will be provided - AITM T-Shirts will be available as well!  Thank you for reading, hope to see you on Tuesday Night! - AITM Crew

Thirteenth Class Meeting

Today we continued finishing up existing projects and began work on a art piece.

On Saturday we will need you help to finish the final collaboration of the Autumn quarter.

Just one week away from the big art exhibition on Tuesday, December 6th from 7:00 - 8:00 PM.

Only two more classes to finish your projects and get set up for the first 2011 Art in the Market show!

Twelfth Class Meeting

You all have continued to impress us with your artistic talent and creativity.

Eleventh Class Meeting

Today during class we continued finishing up our Linocuts and other projects.

Thanks to the generosity of a kind lady from the Westside of town, 

we now have a healthy supply of National Geographic magazines to work with!

Today we made envelopes, greeting cards, paper boxes, collages, and other items.

Hope to see everyone this Saturday, only three classes to go before the big art show!

Tenth Class Meeting

Today we enjoyed pizza, conversation and continued work on our Linocuts.

Nineth Class Meeting

Today in class we started working on a new project,

 Linoleum Block Prints - So far they are looking really great.

Eighth Class Meeting

Today we collaborated on a tree house / prison / art gallery / makeshift structure.

Don't forget to bring some of your artwork to share during next class on Tuesday!

Seventh Class Meeting

Today during class we finished up screen printing T-Shirts and also

had fun experimenting with several "Exquisite Corpse" drawings.

Don't miss Saturday's class, we will be going on a walking field trip!

Sixth Class Meeting

Today during class we finished up with screenprinting and then

worked on a collaborative drawing project entitled "Beautiful Corpse"

Tuesday Nov. 8th will be the last day for screenprinting, bring a shirt or fabric!

Fifth Class Meeting

The Art in the Market Program's fifth group meeting

While some silkscreened class T-Shirts, others worked on their own artwork.

Each class I am amazed at the talent and creativity of our group.
