Winter Quarter - Week 1.5 - Field Trip

Thank you to those who were able to make it down to Findlay Market this past Saturday morning, we were lucky to have so many people show up and really nice weather too, especially for Janurary!

The purpose of our field trip was to survey the existing artwork (many of which was made by past Art in the Market programs) and to document possible spaces for future art installations or murals.

Above is a map in which we marked existing murals, sculptures, or other artwork with a star, and potential places for new artwork with a circle.

We look forward to sharing and discussing our photographs and ideas in addition to working on a new art project during this upcoming Thursday's meeting.
Hope to see you there around 4:30 PM! Bring a friend!

Winter Quarter - Week 1

Hello! Thank you to all who came out for our first AITM meeting of the winter.

We introduced / talked about public artwork and moved toward a definition.

We even worked on a mini-public art installation inside of DAAP, check it out!

This was mentioned in class, the annual Cincinnati Library Teen Drawing contest.
Work is due Jan. 31st, could be a cool opportunity! Click here for more information.

We also talked about Miranda July and Harold Fletcher's Learning to Love you More project, which was the inspiration for the banner mini-project, check out their website for more artful ideas.

Last but certainly not least, Saturday's class will meet at Findlay Market!

Please join us at 12:00 PM in the center of the indoor market building (above) so we may get to know and learn about the existing artwork in Findlay Market and plan a potential space for future works.

Hope to see you Saturday at noon down at Findlay Market!
Thank you for stopping by, have a nice weekend.
